Rees was invited to Shigaraki Ceramic Park in the autumn of 2004 and got the chance to create his art with the Anagama kiln (traditional Japanese wood-fired kiln). He exhibited the work that he created at Shigaraki at Inax Museum in Tokoname in February 2005 combined with the works created at Struktuur 68 in 2000, which made a unique contrast.
