SCENES FROM THE BIBLE
2004 - present
Scenes from the Bible is a long-term project by Adriaan Rees and Ronald van Wieren. Van Wieren, a professional photographer based in Amsterdam, started to take pictures from Rees' work from the very start of his career in 1990. That means that he knows more than anyone else how to photograph his sculptures, installations and projects.
In Scenes from the Bible, Rees and Van Wieren are working on an equal base and develop everything together: starting idea, concept, setting, models, final result and presentation. Both are highly fascinated by the stories and how to put them in a contemporary context.

RICHTEREN
At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.
When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer.
