Exploring Wanderer: EGYPT
ADRIAAN REES
In the summer of 2011 I went to Egypt with my son. We took a cruise on the Nile and visited intriguing temples and ruins. The history and story of the Egyptians inspired me. When I got back to my studio in Jingdezhen, I started working on a small series of scultures of Egyptian gods. First, I made them out of silver and gold, as a metaphor for the wealth of the ancient Egyptian empire, later in different colors.
